Voices for Health and Development is a feminist, non-government organisation supporting girls and young women to understand and exercise their sexual and reproductive health and rights, make informed decisions about their bodies and lives, and build pathways to greater independence. We use communication approaches, youth-led campaigns, advocacy and safe spaces to break the silence around issues affecting girls and young women, create room for honest conversations, and connect young people to information, support and services. We also work with vulnerable young women and young mothers to build practical skills that strengthen their confidence, livelihoods and economic independence.
We are an inspiration and change center. We address issues that impede girls and women from realizing their full potential. Sexual and Reproductive Health, Climate Change Adaptation, Violence Against Women and Girls are our entry points. We generate evidence and leverage mass media and other communication tools to reach every girl and woman in the hardest to reach of locations.

Our founding was inspired by the painful, real-life experience of young women in Ugandan universities—places presumed to be centers of empowerment, yet plagued by silence around sexual and reproductive health.
