The My Choice Campaign is a youth-led initiative by Voices for Health and Development (Voices), focused on expanding access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services among university students in Uganda.
Co-created by university female students, the campaign is grounded in their lived experiences and responds to the realities they face every day while navigating relationships, health decisions, and university life.

Why My Choice?
Across universities in Uganda, many young people are still making life-changing decisions without access to accurate information, safe spaces, or supportive systems.
Misinformation, stigma, and limited access to youth-friendly services continue to shape how students understand and make decisions about contraception, pregnancy, STIs, and their overall sexual and reproductive health.
For young women, the consequences are often immediate and long-term, such as disrupted education, limited opportunities, and health risks that could otherwise be prevented.
My Choice responds to this gap.
What the Campaign Does
The campaign creates spaces where young people can access accurate information, ask questions, and connect to services without fear or judgment.
It works through:
- Peer-led engagement on campus
- Digital platforms and social media
- Storytelling and real-life experiences
- Linkages to youth-friendly SRHR services
Through these approaches, the campaign ensures that information is not only accessible, but also relatable and practical.
A Campaign Led by Young People
My Choice campaign is not designed for young people from a distance. It is shaped and led by them.
University female students play a central role in the campaign from design to implementation ensuring that the content, conversations, and approaches reflect real experiences.
Through Campus Health Ambassadors and peer networks, young people are able to support each other with accurate information and link one another to services.

My Choice is a growing movement led by young people who understand their realities and are shaping the solutions.
Because when young people have access to the right information and support, they are able to make informed choices, not out of fear or pressure, but from knowledge and confidence.
