For two days, Voices for Health and Development participated in the Nkumba University Trade Bazaar, turning the event into an opportunity to connect with young people and bring sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) information and services closer to them.
During the bazaar, Voices set up a youth-friendly space where students could interact with the team, ask questions, seek information, and access a range of SRHR services and commodities. The space provided an open and welcoming environment for young people to have conversations about their health and receive information in a way that was accessible and easy to understand.
Students were able to access free HIV testing, STI screening and treatment, as well as condoms and lubricants. The team also provided practical demonstrations on the correct use of condoms and lubricants, helping young people better understand how these commodities can be used effectively for safer sexual practices.

Beyond providing services, the Voices team engaged directly with students and responded to their questions and concerns around sexual and reproductive health. These conversations created an opportunity to address misconceptions, provide accurate information, and encourage young people to make informed decisions about their health.
The Trade Bazaar demonstrated the importance of taking youth-friendly SRHR services beyond traditional health facility settings and creating spaces where young people already gather. By meeting young people where they are, Voices continues to contribute to improving access to information and services that support informed choices and healthier lives.
