For many girls in Entebbe’s fishing communities, education is their best chance at a better future. However, period poverty, sexual harassment, and stigma continue to threaten their ability to stay in school. Events like these help bring awareness and change, but schools, leaders, and communities must do more to ensure girls are safe, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.
The evening provided VOICES with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with journalists and strengthen its partnerships with the media to advance advocacy efforts in these critical areas.

The workshop was also attended by representatives from the National Forestry Authority, Ministry of Water and Environment, WOUGNET, NAWOU, Trees For Life, YLEC, and local radio stations.
